The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon ‘Stone Place’ blends power, balance and elegance. The aromas are warm and inviting with a beautiful blend of blackberries, violets and graphite. Nuances of vanilla cigar and mint dark chocolate appear as the wine opens. The finish is full of flavor and lingers with abundant fine grained tannins, making this a cellar-worthy wine. Decant now if you just can’t wait!
The 2014 harvest was the third consecutive exceptional vintage in the Napa Valley. Mother Nature provided a noteworthy growing season that included continued drought, a classic Indian summer and an earthquake. Heavy rains in late February and early March gave the vines a much needed drink. Coupled with a long hang time, this yielded an early yet bountiful harvest with superlative fruit. The 2014 harvest for Crocker & Starr was a swift and delicate ballet of cooperative vineyard blocks and fermentations that even allowed Pam the time to go Trick-or Treating with Griffin.
