CABERNET DAY AT CROCKER & STARR
10th Anniversary Cabernet Celebration
Please join us on Saturday, February 6, 2010 between 10 am and 3 pm to celebrate our 10th Anniversary Vintage of the Stone Place Cabernet Sauvignon.
Rain or Shine!
Guests will enjoy samples of the 2006 Cab paired with cheeses from Cowgirl Creamery and Fiscalini Farmstead in our gardens at 700 Dowdell Lane in St Helena.
COME AND SHARE THE HISTORY! The wines of Crocker & Starr flag the resurrection of an 1870′s winery on a St. Helena estate that has been uninterrupted farmland for more than 140 years.
SEE OUR COMMITMENT TO GREEN! Our commitment to sustainable and organic farming techniques coupled with cutting edge winemaking tools and guided by expert hands have combined the best of both Old World philosophy and New World fruit.
WINEMAKER’S NOTES: Our 2006 Cab is a wine of great depth and longevity. Aromas of black cherry, blackberry, violets, and dark chocolate lead to a full body of ripe berries, juicy plum, ground vanilla bean and sweet oak. Silky and dense tannins provide a rich and powerful impression. Approachable and ageworthy.
PLEASE LET US KNOW THAT YOU WILL BE STOPPING BY! Call us at 707-967-9111 or email us at office@crockerstarr.com for directions. Please avoid using google or mapquest. We want to ensure that you come to the right place!

TENTH VINTAGE RELEASE
2006 Cabernet Sauvignon “Stone Place”
Estate Old Vines Organically Grown
Vintage Notes: The 2006 growing season began with extreme rainfall upon the arrival of the New Year. A very cool spring delayed bud break well into May however June allowed the vines to develop and offer a beautiful cluster set. A longer than normal heat spike in July was followed by a cooler August which provided the grapes extended hang time and hence allowing slow but steady flavor development and ripening.
Winemaking: Cold soak must and post fermentation maceration techniques were applied to various lots of estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Barrel aged for twenty months in seventy five percent new French oak. Minimal rackings, no fining nor filtration. Bottled aged for one year pre-release.
Winemaker’s notes: Dark and dense in the rim of the glass. Aromas of black cherries, black berries, chocolate, brown spices, truffle and earth. The palate continues to evolve to incorporate cola, tobacco, leather and baking chocolate covered espresso beans. Flavors of just ripe blackberry with a heavy dose of boysenberry, cinnamon, clove and French vanilla start to intermingle. Silky and dense tannins and oak structure extend the rich Cabernet mouthfeel. Approachable and ageworthy.
